Your cat is not just picky. They are the tiny, fuzzy CEO of your home, and they have opinions about everything from the texture of dinner to whether the water bowl was moved three inches to the left without prior approval.
Feeding cats can feel like a full-time negotiation, and trying to “win” a battle of wills is usually a terrible strategy because the cat has already blocked off the afternoon.
The Finicky Feline is the cat side of Healthy Tails, where we look at feline nutrition and everyday wellness through a holistic and TCVM-informed lens. Cats are not small dogs, and I do not treat them like they are. Their moisture needs, feeding behavior, texture preferences, stress responses, environment, hydration, litter-box patterns, grooming habits, and routines all deserve their own conversation.
And if your cat eats dry food? You are still welcome here.
I am not going to shame you for feeding kibble, canned, fresh, raw, prescription food, or whatever combination your cat has currently decided is acceptable. My job is to help you understand the options and make thoughtful choices from where you are now.
Because with cats, “just change the food” is rarely the whole plan.

The Feline Kibble Hacker’s Guide is for Pet Parents who use dry food and want practical ways to make the overall feeding picture more intentional. We look at things like moisture, protein, smart fresh-food additions, hydration opportunities, and realistic ways to improve the bowl without assuming your cat is going to applaud every change.
This is not about making you feel guilty for feeding kibble. It is about understanding what you are doing, where there may be room to improve, and how to make changes your cat may actually tolerate.
Because a theoretically perfect bowl is not especially useful if the cat walks away from it in disgust.
Tail Talk - $150 per hour
Sometimes you do not need a full program. You have a question about the food you are already feeding, a supplement you are already using, a brand you are considering, an ingredient list that concerns you, or advice from your veterinarian that you want help understanding through a holistic nutrition lens.
That is what Tail Talk is for.
During your Tail Talk, we can talk through what you are currently doing, review commercial foods or supplements you are already using or considering, discuss things like dry versus wet feeding, moisture and hydration, ingredients, feeding routines, and general feline nutrition concepts, and help you make sense of conflicting or confusing information.
I can tell you what I like, what gives me pause, what questions I would be asking, and what may be worth discussing further with your veterinarian.
What we are not doing during that hour is creating a new individualized nutrition plan for your cat.
I will not tell you exactly what food, protein, fresh ingredients, supplements, or recipe I would recommend for your individual cat without first understanding that cat’s TCVM constitution through the appropriate constitutional service.
Tail Talk helps you better understand and evaluate what you are already doing. The deeper services are where individualized recommendations begin.
The Feline Brand & Bag Investigation - $197
Cat-food packaging can make almost anything sound impressive. Wild. Natural. Indoor. Sensitive. Ancestral. Possibly personally approved by a mountain lion.
The front of the bag is marketing.
I turn it around.
During a Feline Brand & Bag Investigation, I look at the protein sources, carbohydrates, additives, available nutrition information, moisture, manufacturing, company transparency, sourcing where available, recall history, and the claims being made about the food. Then I explain what I see through a feline and holistic nutrition lens.
That feline part matters.
A food can look wonderful on paper and still be useless if your cat will not eat it. Moisture matters. Palatability matters. Texture matters. Practicality matters.
The goal is not to declare a food morally good or bad. It is to help you understand what you are buying and decide whether it makes sense for the cat actually living in your house.

Fresh feeding for cats deserves a little more respect than “put meat in a bowl and call it natural.”
Cats have specific nutritional requirements, and fresh food is not automatically complete food simply because the ingredients look beautiful. Taurine matters. Nutrient balance matters. Portions matter. And, perhaps most importantly, your cat actually eating the food matters.
That is why Constitution Kitchen starts with the cat, not the recipe.
Before I create individualized fresh-food guidance, I want to understand your cat’s current diet, history, preferences, lifestyle, everyday patterns, and TCVM constitution. Once I have that bigger picture, then I can build properly portioned recipes and the nutritional additions needed to support the plan.
This is where personalized feline food guidance belongs. It is not something I tuck into a Tail Talk because you asked nicely.
Feline Constitutional Analysis - $350
Cats are subtle little creatures. Sometimes the thing that catches your attention is food, but the bigger picture may also include hydration, routine, grooming, litter-box patterns, household stress, movement, enrichment, feeding behavior, or changes that only make sense once we look at them together.
The Feline Constitutional Analysis gives us a way to do that.
Using my holistic pet nutrition and wellness education together with TCVM principles, I look at the individual cat as a whole. We consider the patterns that show up in food preferences, temperament, routine, environment, hydration, stress, and everyday life, then use that information to build a clearer constitutional picture.
TCVM is a framework here, not a veterinary diagnosis. I am not using an element type to declare what disease your cat has. I am using it to help organize the bigger picture and think more individually about nutrition and everyday wellness.
You will receive a roadmap explaining the patterns I see and the considerations that make sense to explore for your one-of-a-kind tiny tiger.
Feline 4-Week Transition Partnership - $497
A Feline Constitutional Analysis is required first, because with cats, transition is not a detail. It is often the entire project.
Over four weeks, we introduce individualized recommendations gradually and pay attention to the things cats actually care about: food acceptance, texture, smell, temperature, moisture, feeding location, routine, household stress, and whether your cat has decided the new plan is personally offensive.
We watch how things are going, make practical adjustments, and work toward a routine that protects both nutrition and the cat’s willingness to eat.
This is not about forcing a cat onto our schedule. It is about making thoughtful changes in a way the cat can actually live with.
And if something you tell me sounds medical, painful, urgent, or otherwise outside my lane, that piece goes straight to your veterinarian.
The 3-Month Feline Heritage Partnership - $720
The Heritage Partnership gives us more time to see how your cat’s individualized plan works once ordinary life keeps happening around it.
Over three months, we can notice patterns, refine nutrition and everyday-wellness recommendations, account for seasonal or household changes, and make sure the plan still works for both the cat and the person responsible for implementing it.
Cats change. Preferences change. Stress changes. Routines change. And occasionally the food they adored last month becomes completely unacceptable for reasons they have declined to disclose.
The goal is not a permanently perfect cat. The goal is helping you understand your cat more clearly so you recognize what seems normal for them, what changes deserve attention, what can be adjusted within the plan, and when something belongs back with the veterinary team.
By the end, I want you to feel more confident reading the cat in front of you, not more dependent on me.
