Pet-product safety is about more than recalls.
Some issues are immediate: a contaminated food, a mislabeled product, a safety notice, or a recall that means you need to check the bag in your pantry.
Others happen farther behind the scenes: regulatory questions, ingredient concerns, enforcement actions, manufacturing issues, lawsuits, or reporting that raises questions worth understanding even when there is nothing to throw away today.
The Healthy Tails Watchdog is where I keep track of both.
The goal is not to make you suspicious of everything in the pet-food aisle or send you down a rabbit hole every time a headline appears. It is to give you one place to find the information that matters, understand why it matters, and decide what you need to do next.
No drama. No doom-scrolling. No turning pet-product safety into a part-time investigative career.
Just the information worth paying attention to.

If you are checking to see whether a pet food, treat, supplement, or other animal product has been recalled or is under a current safety alert, start here.
I track active recalls, withdrawals, FDA notices, unresolved safety matters, and resolved recalls, and I pull together the affected product information, lot or date details, the reason for the alert, and what you need to do next.
Not every important pet-food issue appears on a recall list.
This is where I keep track of broader developments involving pet-food ingredients, labeling, regulation, enforcement, manufacturing practices, lawsuits, investigative reporting, and other industry issues I think pet parents should know about.
For each item, I will explain what is being reported, why I think it is worth watching, and where you can read the original source for yourself.
