The Brand & Bag Investigation

 I calculate the estimated carbohydrate content of your dog’s specific formula and show you where the starches and sugars are coming from. The front of the bag rarely makes that part easy to understand, so I put the numbers into plain English and explain why the carbohydrate context matters for the individual dog eating it. 

 I review the company’s manufacturing information, recall history, and publicly available safety records. The goal is not to manufacture panic. It is to understand who makes the food, what has happened in the past, how the company responded, and whether anything deserves a closer look. 

 This is where thirty years of marketing experience earns its keep. I compare the pictures and promises on the front of the bag with the ingredient list and nutritional information on the back. We look at vague ingredients, label claims, additives, vitamin sources, and those beautiful featured foods that may appear in quantities too small to matter as much as the packaging suggests. 

 Then we bring the dog back into the conversation. Using TCVM principles, I look at whether the formula’s ingredients and food energetics appear to support—or work against—your dog’s individual constitution, patterns, and everyday needs.
